Exciting project for trainees at RT-Systemtechnik GmbH
Problem: The increasing size of the fire brigade’s special vehicles harbor a risk that should not be underestimated. The view around the emergency vehicle often becomes a problem for the driver. This also is in Rheine. Maneuvering in city traffic or narrow passages often requires an additional guide. The vehicle safety solutions from RT-Systemtechnik GmbH can help expand the field of vision and thus relieve and protect employees of the fire brigade.
Some of our trainees (electronics technician for devices & systems / industrial business management assistant) recently equipped the 26-ton special emergency vehicle “Florian 19” of the Rheine fire brigade with the latest camera technology for a test project. An RT 360° BirdView HD system, a turning assistant system, a blind spot side camera and a radio reversing camera were installed.
After successful installation and calibration, the test drive started with a panoramic view and intelligent object recognition. The representatives of the Rheine fire brigade were enthusiastic after the test drive and particularly appreciate the good all-round view and that there were no longer any blind spots. It is now being considered the built-in system to be used as standard for the Rheine fire brigade vehicles. For the RT trainees, planning and implementation was a responsible task with much fun.
